Directions to the Aviary
How do I enter the venue?
The National Aviary has multiple entrances, but please use the Garden Room entrance only. This entrance is located at the back of the building, and can be accessed from the attached parking lot. The garden room features large glass doors facing the lot.
Important: The main entrance at 700 Arch Street will be closed for our event. Please do not try to enter there, as it will require a long walk around the building to reach the Garden Room entrance.
What should I tell my Uber/Lyft driver?
For the most convenient drop-off, ask your driver to pull into the Aviary’s attached parking lot via the access lane off Arch Street and drop you at the Garden Room entrance.
This will allow you to arrive right at the correct entrance without needing to walk around the building from the main street entrance.
If I am driving, where should I park?
The National Aviary has a small private parking lot located directly behind the building. The lot is free for our guests and has approximately 50 spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Aviary closes at 5pm that day so spots will be opening up as visitors are leaving.
Accessing the Parking Lot: The lot is located west of Arch Street. You can reach it by turning into the small access lane off Arch Street (just south of the W. North Avenue intersection).
Additional Street Parking: Metered street parking on the surrounding blocks is free after 6:00 PM on Saturdays. If you find a spot on W. North Avenue, you can enjoy a short, scenic walk through the park to reach the Garden Room entrance.
Parking Garages: If the surface lot and street parking are full, the Nova Place Garage and Federal North Garage are both located about an 8-9 minute walk away.
